 The cork soles, the polka dot print, the slinback style - these sandals from Delia's are a mish-mash of lots of other (more expensive) shoes, but when they're as cute as this - not to mention the fact that they're only $35 - who cares? These have a 5" heel, which is higher than even I wear on daily basis, so they may not be the most comfortable shoes to walk in. If you do manage it, I'd suggest a pretty sun-dress or some dark denim jeans to go with them. Oh, and a box of plasters for the inevitable blisters...

Clearly the teeny tiny Ms Richie has realised that if she doesn't wear something to make a statement, it won't actually be possible to see her with the naked eye. Although I think she needs to join me in having a few cheeseburgers, I do like a lot of what she wears. As for this particular pair of shoes, as long as things are kept basic, with the red heels in question being plain and a simple outfit to match, I think they can look gorgeous and sexy without overstepping the mark. This ASOS pair are a bargain at just £20.00. Any fans?!

 A t-bar and a bow and a strange gold rope thing? Now that's what you call "overkill" - and just what is that piece of gold string supposed to be for anyway? It's a shame, because Miss Sixty had the basis of a reasonably nice shoe here, had they not decided to go ahead and add every type of embellishment they could think of to it. On the plus side, I like the lilac colour of these, and they also come in a rather nice baby blue, too. They're $169 at Zappos.

Eco friendly pink shoes by Terra Plana, vegetable tanned and made from locally sourced materials. This shoe has the signature Terra PLana leather wrapped heel which feature on many of their shoes. Would be perfect with skinny jeans, and is slightly flexible which makes the heel more comfortable.

A few of you fellow shoeaholics have recently commented that for all their claims that their pieces are 'as seen on' or 'in the style of' various celebrities, the clothes, shoes and accessories at ASOS often only vaguely look like those they are supposed to resemble. They've had another go here with these oversize back bow sandals in the style of Cameron Diaz, and although I'm not a huge fan of them myself, I love the idea of wearing a fairly plain outfit and making the statement solely with your shoes. The glaring difference with the sandals by ASOS is that they are only available in 'tendril green' or 'cranberry pink', although it's a safe assumption that they're certainly a lot cheaper than Diaz's pair! What are your thoughts?

 If there was a prize for the most spring-like shoe ever, I think Moda in Pelle would have a good chance of winning it with these 'Malina' peep toes. They have all of their bases covered here: blue sky, flowers, sparkly bits, three different floral prints, a matching handbag and, if you don't like flashing your toes, there's even the similarly-styled 'Casadia', which used the same print on a pointy-toed court shoe. Now that's what I call tireless devotion to floral prints...

 There's something a little bit "costumey" about these gorgeous suede peep toes by Courtney Crawford, but you just have to love them for it, don't you? They'll add a little dash of drama to just about anything you wear them with, and are the kind of shoes that just cry out to be admired. It's just a small detail, but I love the shiny gold sock, too. £310 at Browns.

Rock & Republic tend to be better known for their jeans than their shoes  (thanks, I suspect, to the influence of a certain Mrs Beckham), but that could be about to change if they keep making shoes like these 'Catherine' stilettos, which are $345 at eLuxury. The gingham print and big bow gives the shoe that '50s pin-up girl' feel that can look so good. Wear with cropped indigo jeans or a prom-style dress to complete that retro look.

 Le Converse Chuck Taylor meglio conosciute semplicemente come Converse sono state inventate nel 1917 e inizialmente furono concepite come scarpe da basket. Divennero popolari grazie al giocatore di basket, l’americano Chuck Taylor che le scelse fino a proporre alcuni cambi al modello che nella sua forma definitiva acquistò anche la sua firma. Col passare del tempo oltre ai due colori base, bianco e nero, furono introdotti sul mercato altri colori e altre forme, più alte o più basse.
Anche i materiali cambiarono e alla primordiale tela si aggiunsero pelle, velluto e molti altri ancora. Successivamente sebbene la fama delle All-Star continuava a crescere in tutto il mondo, il modello cessò di essere utilizzato come scarpa da basketball. La scarpa subì successive modifiche dopo che il gruppo Converse fu acquisito dalla Nike pur mantenendo il medesimo marchio e firma.
Col tempo il significato delle Converse mutò e da scarpa sportiva quale era passo ad identificare dalla fine degli anni ‘70 in poi i fans della musica punk-rock, visto che erano indossati dagli stessi membri delle band. Nei primi anni ’90 anche i rappers presero ad indossare le Converse, mentre negli ultimi anni quasi ogni musicista che si rispetti indipendentemente dal genere a cui appartiene ne possiede un paio. Da qualche anno a questa parte per di più le Converse hanno subito una crescita di notorietà incredibile e sono considerate tra le scarpe più trendy in circolazione tanto che quasi tutti ne posseggono uno o più paia. Oggigiorno i colori e i modelli in commercio sono una marea: alcuni sono fissi, altri stagionali. Per chi proprio non riuscisse a decidere fra l’infinità di modelli sul sito c’è anche la possibilità di personalizzare le proprie Converse scegliendo un colore differente per ogni parte della scarpa. E se tutto ciò non fosse sufficiente c’è la possibilità di far aggiungere la propria firma.

Immancabili per questa stagione sono le Converse Silver, come fossero state create con una bomboletta spray! Un’altra fantasia che lascerà senz’altro a bocca aperta è quella a pois con inserti di pizzo disponibile nei colori bianco e rosa. Da portare piegato questo modello extra lungo in nero che in realtà rivela un’anima multicolor! Notevole persino il modello d’eccezione per i graffittari disegnate dal leggendario artista newyorchese di graffiti Cope II. Iper femminile il modello in quadratini vichy rosa mentre dedicato ai rockettari D.O.C. è quest’altro letteralmente in fiamme. Infine chiudiamo con un’occhio al futuro con questo modello che sicuramente andrà a ruba la prossima stagione dal momento che il pied-de-poule è una delle fantasie predominanti.

From the pleated Louis Vuitton Balmoral to the Manolo Blahnik Mary-Jane, certain styles will go down in shoe lore as absolute classics, selling out the moment they hit the shelves. It's slightly surprising, however, that the biggest footwear hit of 2007 (so far) looks like it could just as likely have come from a fetish store than a high-end designer boutique. The Yves Saint Laurent 'Tribute' platform comes in various colours and two heel heights, both of which are frighteningly vertiginous. Of course the hefty platform helps make these more comfortable to wear, even if it does present a bit of a balance issue. That's still not stopped every celeb worth her $10 million paycheck giving them a go, though.
